Fight Noise with Noise
Here are the sound tracks for the different types of noise that we listened to. Other than white noise, each attempts to compensate for the fact that our hearing response is not uniform across tihe frequency spectrum. Typically our hearing tapers off below 20 to 30 Hz, and above 12,000 to 20,000 Hz.
White Noise
Pink Noise
Grey Noise
More Noise!
Following are some sounds that we talked about, but didn't experience during the workshop. While white noise is almost universally disliked, some of the "coloured" sound may be a good fit for you, so I encourage you to listen to them and decide for yourself.
Brown Noise
Blue Noise
Purple Noise
Tips for Listening
When listening, we suggest you find a quiet place, free from the distractions of everyday life.
It is also best if you can use headphones or external computer speakers. Most computer speakers are of poor quality, and are unable to reproduce the sounds and music accurately.
